I'd been a proud manager of a small CD and record shop for for nearly a quarter century. I started it due to my my crazed obsessions with an ever-expanding record collection. I had so many vinyl records my only recourse was to start a way to share it all with the world. I did this for a long time but two years ago I came upon the realization that running a business was no longer what I wanted to do. I began for options to sell. This decision was hard but actually finding a buyer was even more hard.
I decided to hire a business adviser to sell the record shop for me. I wanted to circumvent selling to big, souless, and national companies. The new owner, I hoped, would keep the small store attitude. Thankfully, the exclusive franchising territories Detroit MI respected my yearning and after a couple months we found a fantastic buyer.
Now that it's not my store I still stop by to look for vinyl. I'm always looking for new arrivals, but the drawback being my vinyl collection is quickly growing. Maybe I'll be able to keep it under control this time around.
